NBA Premium Play 01/28: Indiana Pacers @ Denver Nuggets

NBA - 711 Indiana Pacers @ 712 Denver Nuggets

Projected Line: Denver by 2 points

This is the last game of Indiana's road trip and they are coming from a game where they lost on overtime at Utah. It was a very weird game, where Indiana committed 22 turnovers and was only able to send the game to overtime, thanks to some great plays from David West, Paul George and George Hill down the stretch. Both the Pacers and the Jazz had a clear edge on post ups with 10-15 FG and 10-19 FG respectively! Indiana dominated the boards battle, but they really struggled on turnovers, something that allowed Utah to score 18 fast break points with 9-12 FG on transitions! Of course the Pacers will pay extra attention to taking care of the ball today, as they looked sloppy with a lot of lazy passes against the Jazz and this is easily fixable with more focus tonight.

Indiana's defense will be a tough opponent for Denver, as the Pacers's defense is the opposing of the Kings's defense that the Nuggets faced on their last game. Sacramento is #28 on transition defense, #28 on rim defense and #30 on defensive rebounding, while Indiana is #1, #3 and #7 in these areas respectively. This is why Denver scored 121 points against Sacramento, but it will be much tougher to play well on offense against a tough defense of the Pacers, who will on bounce back mode tonight.

Denver has been struggling against teams with a good post up game, as the Nuggets are #21 on post up defense and with Indiana having a good frontcourt with Roy Hibbert and David West ready to explore that. In the first game of the season between these two teams, David West schooled Kenneth Faried and he ended the game with 8-12 FG and 11 rebounds. I see the Pacers as a very tough opponent for the Nuggets and with Indiana in bounce back mode, while Denver is coming from a huge blowout win, I see the Pacers being a very competitive underdog tonight. I'll be taking Indiana in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 711 Indiana Pacers (+5.5) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
