NBA Premium Play 01/26: Chicago Bulls @ Washington Wizards

NBA - 505 Chicago Bulls @ 506 Washington Wizards

Projected Line: Washington by 2 points

We have both teams on a back to back spot in here, even though Washington is on a much better spot, as they had a blowout home win against Minnesota last night, with nobody playing more than 27 minutes. On the other hand, Chicago had a relatively easy home win over Golden State, but where the starters still played a lot, with Jimmy Butler 44 minutes, Joakim Noah 39 minutes, Kirk Hinrich 39 minutes and Carlos Boozer 34 minutes! Chicago's offense always struggles on back to back games, as their starters generally play big minutes and today, it won't be any different. This is why they are just averaging an offensive rating of 100.38 on back to back games this season. With Nene Hilario being healthy, together with Emeka Okafor, the Wizards are quite decent on protecting the basket. They are allowing 67% FG at the rim for the season, but since their game against Oklahoma City, they are allowing just 64% FG! Their perimeter defense is also much better with John Wall and Trevor Ariza, with the Wizards allowing just 34% FG from 16-23 feet and 29.3% 3pts during this span.

On the other hand, John Wall will have a good matchup tonight on offense against Chicago's PG defense. Kirk Hinrich was forced to play 39 minutes last night and this can be problematic for the Bulls tonight, as they are just an average defensive team on pick and rolls, while they are also a poor transition defensive team by being #26 in the league, while allowing 1.20 PPP! Washington has nice numbers on offense in these areas and I believe they will be able to exploit the Bulls's defensive struggles in these two areas. I believe the Wizards will have a good defensive game tonight, while having a decent offensive game, so I expect them to pick up another very good win tonight. I'm taking Washington tonight.
