NBA Premium Play 01/16: Cleveland Cavaliers @ Portland Trailblazers

NBA - 715 Cleveland Cavaliers @ 716 Portland Trail Blazers

Projected Line: Portland by 4 points

Portland managed to make a good comeback at Denver last night, while sending the game to overtime. Their problem for tonight is really their poor spot, as they will be playing their third game in four nights, with this game being also a back-to-back game. We are talking about a team with no depth, plain and simple! Their bench scored just 6 points against Oklahoma City and 12 points against Denver! With the Blazers depending a lot from their starters, Portland used them a lot over their last two games, as against Oklahoma City, LaMarcus Aldrdige played 38 minutes, Nicolas Batum 44 minutes, Damian Lillard 41 minutes and Wesley Matthews 39 minutes, while yesterday at Denver, LaMarcus Aldridge played 45 minutes, Nicolas Batum 45 minutes, Damian Lillard 42 minutes and Wesley Matthews 43 minutes.

Cleveland has also some weapons to be competitive tonight. Damian Lillard isn't a good defensive player and he will be tired tonight. So, Kyrie Irving has a good spot to have a good game tonight. We know about Cleveland's lack of depth in the frontcourt to defend well and that was visible at Sacramento, but the Blazers don't have a powerful frontcourt, so Cleveland's defense won't get pounded down low by the Blazers like they were by the Kings. Portland is a jump shooting team and on a poor spot, they will struggle tonight. I expect a close game in here, so I'll be taking Cleveland in here.
