This will already be the final game of the series between these two teams, with Orlando currently leading it by 2-1. The last game between these two teams was last Tuesday, so it will be pretty much impossible for one team to surprise the other, as they already know each other very well. In the last game between the two teams, Orlando showed no effort whatsoever. There were rumors that their GM individually discussed trades with the players potentially involved in them and even the "promotion" of J.J. Redick to the starting lineup was done thinking about potential trades. What happened was that Orlando didn't show any focus or interest in the game and that allowed Detroit to crushed them on rebounding, to have almost three times more free throws than them and they didn't force turnovers, something that Detroit's offense appreciated by having their best offensive game of their last 9 games!
For tonight, I expect a much bigger defensive effort from Orlando. Andre Drummond is playing more time alongside Greg Monroe in Detroit and the result of that is that the Pistons are playing at a slower pace now, as they have two big men playing down low at the same time. This was clearly visible on their last two games and I expect the same to happen today. Therefore, I expect this game to have a slow pace, as after the first two games of the series had a pace factor of 94.2 and 92.9, last Tuesday's game had a pace of 89.6! Orlando's offense is very dependent from their outside game, but Detroit's defense is #1 on 3pts allowed with 32.6%! On a slow paced game, with Detroit's defense having a good matchup today and Orlando showing more effort on defense, I believe this will be a low scoring game and so, I'll be taking the Under in here.
