NBA Premium Play 01/19: Washington Wizards @ Los Angeles Clippers

NBA - 515 Washington Wizards @ 516 Los Angeles Clippers

Projected Line: 198 points

Washington is coming from a great win at Denver, where they had 10 players who logged at least 17 minutes each! The X factor of this game was Washington crushing Denver on the boards by grabbing 55% of the rebounds and 12-9 on offensive rebounds! Washington had almost 18% of volume on transition plays, while shooting 7-15 FG. Denver had super edges on pick and roll ball handler plays with 10-14 FG, transitions with 11-16 FG and they also shot well from the outside with 7-16 3pts! On the other hand, the Clippers are coming from three wins in a row on a road trip that sent them to Memphis, Houston and Minnesota. In the games where their opponents set a slow pace, the Clippers squashed them on their own game by allowing just 73 and 77 points, while on a run and gun game against Houston, the Clippers still crushed their opponents by scoring 117 points!

This spot is excellent from them in terms of showtime, as they are returning home tonight, on a Saturday night game against a team that now plays on a run and gun style! Washington will push up the pace tonight, not just because of John Wall, but also due to a bigger commitment from every play to force the transition plays and everything starts with their starter AJ Price. This is why Washington scored 29, 17 and 18 fast break points on their last three games! The problem for Washington is that they are prone to commit turnovers and they have committed 17, 18 and 21 turnovers in three of their last four games and so, against a team like the Clippers, they will get crushed with dunks after dunks. The Clippers are #5 in fast break points with 16.9 ppg and #7 on transition efficiency with 1.19 PPP and if Denver crushed Washington on transitions and pick and rolls, the same will happen tonight against the Clippers. I expect a high scoring game in here and so, I'll take the Over.
