The Dodgers really need to bounce back tonight after being swept by San Francisco at home on their previous series, after returning home from a very successful road trip. They will be facing Eovaldi, who will be facing his former team for the first time. He is coming from three good outings in a row against the Rockies on the road, Philadelphia at home and the Mets in NY, but he threw 115 pitches on his last outing in Colorado and he keeps struggling with his command, with 3/4, 2/3 and 2/6 K/BB on his last three outings, something that made his FIP and xFIP being respectively for these games 4.00/5,10, 4.10/6.74 and 5.90/7.37. It's clear to me that Eovaldi is very likely to have a terrible outing very soon and I believe it will happen tonight in LA against the Dodgers looking for a bounce back.
The Dodgers will start Billingsley tonight and he has been superb since the All-Star break. He hasn't allowed a single run on his last two outings, in a combined of 15 scoreless innings. He had a 2.84 ERA, a 1.83 FIP and a 2.88 xFIP in July and a 1.59 ERA, 2.82 FIP and 3.91 xFIP, so I believe he won't have any problems tonight against the unimpressive Marlins' lineup.
With a tremendous SP edge tonight combined with a much better hitting as well and a bounce back spot from the Dodgers, I expect the team from LA to have an easy win tonight and so, I'll take them on the Runline tonight.
