(Starting Pitchers: C. Volstad vs M. Latos)
After yesterday's doubleheader where these two teams split the two games, the Cubs will start their horrible SP Volstad, who is coming from another defeat, this time against Houston at home, in a game where he allowed four runs on eight hits in 5IP. He has a 4.92 FIP and 4.49 xFIP against RH batters, so he should be crushed by the Reds lineup today, who will be trying to bounce back from last night's defeat.
The Reds will on their side start Latos and he is coming from a great outing against the Mets, where he didn't allow a single run in 7IP. Latos is definitely in a good moment as he had a FIP lower than 4.00 in all his last five starts and even though he can struggle a bit against LH hitters at times, the Cubs only have DeJesus and Rizzo as decent LH hitters, so I believe Matos will have another quality outing today.
With such a huge SP edge in favor of Cincinnati and with the Reds also having the better hitting, I expect nothing but a very easy win for Cincinnati today and so, I'll take them on the runline today.
