MLB - 963 Los Angeles Dodgers @ 964 Atlanta Braves
(Starting Pitchers: A. Harang vs B. Sheets)
The second game of this series will put head to head Harang from the Dodgers and Sheets from the Braves. Harang is coming from a win against the Pirates, when he allowed two runs and five hits in 6IP. He is 6-3 and 3.68 ERA on this road this season, but his 4/3 K/BB ratio on his last outing makes me believe that he isn't being impressive right now, especially when he had just 4.25, 4.75 and 7.45 FIP on his last three starts. Harang also isn't good against LH hitters (.255 BA, .406 SLG, 4.57 FIP and 5.38 xFIP) and I believe Atlanta will use today on their lineup Bourn, Heyward, Jones, Freeman and McCann, five players who will take advantage of this struggle from Harang, like they have been doing, as Atlanta's roster is .353 BA and 1.039 OPS against Harang in 190 AB's!
Atlanta will start Sheets today and I don't trust him to bounce back, after a loss against the Mets on Sunday Night Baseball. He has just recently come back after almost two seasons out of baseball and after a great start, I believe he will start to struggle big time. Also with yesterday's game only ending at the 11th innings, Atlanta used three of his best relievers (their closer Kimbrel, O'Flaherty and Venters), so the Braves' bullpen won't be at this best to save Sheets today.
Besides both SP of this contest being likely to struggle today, I expect this contest to have a decent number of runs and therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here.
