(Starting Pitchers: M. Harrison vs H. Alvarez)
The Rangers will start Harrison today and he is coming from a outing in NY against the Yankees, where he had a 1.42 ERA, 3.89 FIP and 5.75 xFIP. I believe he was a bit lucky in that outing (looking at his much higher FIP than ERA) plus he has been very inconsistent lately.
On the other side, Toronto will be using Alvarez as their SP today and he is coming from three runs allowed (two earned) and seven hits on his 3-2 loss to the White Sox last Tuesday. He isn't having a great season and even though he typically throws strikes, he can be too hittable and doesn't have the skills to strikeout a lot of batters to get away from tough situations. Against a
very patient Rangers' lineup, I believe Alvarez will struggle today.
With both SP having a tough day ahead today due to their recent struggles, I believe this game will have nothing to do with the low scoring affairs of the previous games of this series and therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here today.
