MLB - 959 Colorado Rockies @ 960 New York Mets
(Starting Pitchers: J. Francis vs M. Harvey)
After losing the first two games of this series, the Mets will try to put Francis in big trouble tonight, so they can finally beat the Rockies on this series. Francis is struggling right now with a 8.59 ERA and 1.682 WHIP on his last six outings. He had a somewhat decent run in July, but he has been terrible lately once again with 5.70, 6.47, 6.85, 10.19 and 6.10 FIP on his last five starts. With a 8.00 ERA and 7.10 FIP in August, Francis is definitely an easy target right now and looking at the fact that the Mets roster is hitting .407 BA and 1.199 OPS against him in 59 AB's, I believe the Mets will have a good offensive game tonight.
The Mets will start Harvey tonight and he has a great pure stuff, something that allows him to have a good number of strikeouts. He is coming from a game against the Reds where he had allowed one run and four hits and looking at the fact that Colorado is yet to play against him, I expect Harvey to make them struggle with his varied pitching, much harder to bat against that Young yesterday that gave the Rockies almost 80% fastballs. With the Mets having a massive SP edge on this contest, not even the return of Carlos Gonzalez can save Colorado tonight. Therefore, I'll be taking the Mets in here.
