MLB - 971 Cleveland Indians @ 972 Seattle Mariners (Starting Pitchers: Z. McAllister vs H. Iwakuma) Seattle will be trying to sweep the Indians today and for that, they will have to outplay McAllister, who will be pitching for Cleveland today. McAllister is coming from a no-decision at Oakland, where he allowed four runs and eight hits in 6IP. He has lasted six innings in six of his last seven outings, with a 2-3 record, 3.89 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and a 34/11 K/BB ratio in 41.2 IP. He has been solid with a 3.64 ERA, 3.45 FIP and 3.91 xFIP this season and it's clear that he hasn't been lucky in August, as he has a 4.98 ERA this month, but just a 3.51 FIP. This is a good park for him and I expect him to have a good outing today. Seattle will be starting Iwakuma, who has won three of his last games, including a win against the Twins on his last outing, where he allowed one unearned run in seven innings. On his last games, he is 3-1 with a 2.37 ERA, 1.158 WHIP and 37/11 K/BB ratio in 38 innings. These are good numbers, however his 3.79 ERA is clearly much lower than the 4.92 FIP he currently possesses, therefore I believe he will regress from these good numbers, especially when he has a 2.84 ERA but a 3.78 FIP on this month. We are in the presence of a game where Cleveland has an underrated SP and Seattle has an overrated SP pitching for them today. Cleveland will be trying to avoid getting swept in another series and with this SP edge, I believe they have a good shot of pulling the upset today. Therefore, I'll be taking the Indians in here.
