Golden State is on a back to back spot tonight, but what really makes me like the Celtics in here is the matchup. Golden State depends a lot from their pick and rolls with Stephen Curry and Jarrett Jack, with the Warriors being #8 on pick and roll ball handler plays. They are also good on post ups by being #6 in the league. At the same time, Golden State is also #3 on spot up shooting. These are the three areas where the Warriors are good on offense, as in the rest, they are average at best. But they will be facing a Celtics defense that is #3 in defending pick and roll ball handler plays, #6 in spot up plays and #13 on post up plays. They had one day off to recover from the blowout loss at LA against the Clippers and they should be able to have a good defensive game tonight.
On the other hand, we have a nice edge on Boston with the pick and rolls and cuts, as Golden State's defense is just #29 on pick and roll ball handler defense and #28 on cuts defense. This is why exactly where Boston's offense is good, as they are #8 and #1 respectively! Therefore, I see this matchup favoring the Celtics and so, I'll be taking them in here.
