San Antonio is coming from an home win over one of the slowest paced teams in the league in the Raptors and they will now play the fastest paced team in the league in the Rockets. Everything changes for the Spurs for this game, as with this contest being a run and gun one, we will have San Antonio's offense working very well, as Gregg Popovich knows he has a second unit ready to worn the Rockets out, a team that depends a lot from their starters. By the way, this will be the third game between these two teams this season and the first two are in the top 5 of the fastest paced games in this season so far!
In normal conditions, Houston's offense has some edge over San Antonio, especially on pick and roll ball handler plays, where the Spurs defense is just #19, on spot ups where San Antonio is just #25 and also on transitions, where the Spurs defense is just #18 in the league. These three areas represent 53% of the plays that the Rockets normally have on their games, so I expect the Rockets to pound San Antonio's defense tonight. On the other hand, the Rockets defense is quite poor, especially on transitions (#25) and this will allow the super offensive machine of the Spurs to destroy them. San Antonio with their superior depth will crush the Rockets defense that will concerned in keeping the game tight due to their offense than on their poor defense. I expect another super fast paced game between these two teams, with great offensive efficiency as well, therefore I'll be taking the Over in here. San Antonio's roster depth will give them a clear edge over the Rockets and so, I'll be taking San Antonio in here as well.
