Projected Line: Charlotte by 6 points
This is a poor spot for Orlando, as they will play their third game in four nights, with this game being also a home-road back to back spot, as they faced and defeated the Warriors at home last night. Orlando took advantage of Golden State's problems by shooting 8-14 FG on pick and roll ball handler plays and 5-12 FG on cuts. They also had a good game from the perimeter. Orlando's offensive game is based on pick and roll ball handler plays, post up plays, spot up plays and cuts. However, they will face a Bobcats' defense that is a top team in defending three of these areas. They are #7 in pick and roll ball handler defense, #2 in post up defense and #9 in cuts defense. They are #26 on spot up defense, but in normal conditions, Orlando won't be able to take advantage of that tonight, as they are on a poor spot and their inconsistent perimeter shooting will suffer because of that.
Charlotte's offense is based on their guards and they are #6 on pick and roll ball handler plays. Jameer Nelson lacks the speed to guard Kemba Walker, while the Bobcats will also try to attack in transition like they generally do. Orlando has been surprisingly defending very well this season, but their weakest part of their defense is definitely their pick and roll ball handler defense, where they are just #25 in the league by allowing 0.85 PPP. I expect Charlotte to stop Orlando's offense quite well tonight and take advantage the Magic's poor spot and poor pick and roll defense to pound them on offense. Therefore, I believe the Bobcats will end their losing streak tonight with a comfortable win and so, I'll be taking them in here.
