NBA Premium Play 11/23: San Antonio Spurs @ Indiana Pacers

NBA - 511 San Antonio Spurs @ 512 Indiana Pacers

Projected Line: 187 points

San Antonio is coming from a big win in Boston, where they had amazing offensive numbers, as they just couldn't stop Tony Parker's dribble penetrations, which are being Boston's main defensive problem this season. The Sixers had done the same thing to them and now it was San Antonio who pounded them. The Spurs also took advantage of the over help from the Celtics' frontcourt to pound them down low with San Antonio shooting 24-30 FG at the rim, with a great game from Tiago Splitter! This kind of tactics works very well against a team like Boston, who plays undersized and they just can't stop the dribble penetrations. But things will be much different against the Pacers, who has a good frontcourt defense. Boston's defense is #29 in allowing 69.8% FG at the rim, while Indiana is #2 with just 59.5% FG allowed! Besides that, Indiana has a very good perimeter defense by being #1 on spot up while allowing 0.79 PPP, #3 on transitions with 1.00 PPP allowed and #7 in defending shots from 16-23 feet with just 34.7% FG allowed! Everything that was easy for the Spurs in Boston will be tough for them against a good Pacers defense.

Indiana is coming from an overtime win over the Hornets, where not even with them having a good edge on spot and with Anthony Davis out allowed them to have an easy win. The big news was a huge outside game from the Pacers with 15-27 3pts, with Paul George beating Reggie Miller's record with 9 treys during the second half! But the important fact of this game is that Indiana struggled against in feeding their big men, as they shot just 14-26 FG at the rim! New Orleans has been a bad spot up defensive team and it wasn't a surprise that they have good looks on that game. With San Antonio using Tiago Splitter and Tim Duncan to stop Indiana's frontcourt offense and on a half court, Indiana will struggle once again to create good looks to shoot from the outside and they will struggle offensively in here. Therefore, I believe both teams will struggle on offense tonight and so, I'll be taking the Under in here.
