NBA Free Premium Play 11/21: Washington Wizards @ Atlanta Hawks

Washington  at Atlanta
NBA - 511 Washington Wizards @ 512 Atlanta Hawks

Projected Line: 188 points

Washington is coming from another loss, this time at home against Indiana, on a game where their offense in the first half was ridiculously bad with just 31 points scored, while shooting 8-37 FG and committing 10 turnovers! This isn't a surprise for a team that had Emeka Okafor and Jan Vesely as their starting frontcourt, two players with zero offensive skills! The Wizards bench was much better than the starting lineup once again, as they rallied from a 26 points deficit on the score with a 16-0 run to cut the margin to just 71-67 at the start of the fourth quarter!

For this game at Atlanta, it will all come down to Randy Wittman's starting lineup, as it's clear that the Wizards have talent to be better that they are being and this can be easily fixed by not using such a uni-dimensional frontcourt on the starting lineup! It has been confirmed that there will be changes in tonight's starting lineup, so I expect Washington to start the game much better offensively than they did on their last game against Indiana.
On the other hand, the Hawks are coming from a bad shooting game against Orlando, where they shot well at the rim with 17-24 FG, but with just 1-5 FG from 10-15 feet, 6-22 FG from 16-23 feet and 5-25 3pts, for a combined of 12-52 (23%) FG from +10 feet! The Hawks were creating good looks, but they wouldn't turn them into points! Atlanta looked good as always on transitions with 8-11 FG and also on pick and rolls, but they were simply terrible on spot ups with 4-27 FG! The Hawks may have had just 18 assists, but they shared the ball well and the only reason why they didn't have more assists was because they wouldn't take advantage of the open shots they had!

Atlanta will continue being a great transition team because they had quick guards plus Josh Smith and Al Horford, who are mobile frontcourt players! They are #2 in the league with 1.32 PPP on transition plays and #6 on fast break points per game! They are also a good pick and roll team and the only problem they are currently having is really on the spot up plays, where they are just #28 in the league. However, with the great shooters that they have on the roster, sooner or later, they will start taking advantage of the open shots they create for themselves. The Hawks have a good spot in here and I believe they will have no problems in pounding the Wizards defense tonight.
Atlanta is now playing with the #18 fastest pace in the league when they used to be on the bottom 5, so I believe this game will be played on a relatively fast pace, considering Washington has no interest in playing half court basketball with the Hawks. I believe Atlanta will have a good offensive game, while the Wizards should also be able to have some decent offense with the depth they have and so, I'll be taking the Over in here.
