UEFA Champions League Plays 09/18: Malaga vs Zenit St. Petersburg

SOCCER PLAY - UEFA Champions League: Malaga vs Zenit St. Petersburg

***SINGLE DIME PLAY***

Zenit made a huge investment in this offseason in order to be a powerhouse team in Europe. They brought Hulk from FC Porto and Witsel from SL Benfica (even though he is injured and won’t play today) and their mindset won’t be the typical “let’s try to sneak out a point on the road” but rather to dominate and win on the road.

This competition is so important for them that they laid a huge egg last weekend for their domestic league by losing at home 0-2 – their players were already focused for today’s game and were sloppy on that game.

On the other side, despite all the financial problems, Malaga is doing a nice job early on the season. Late in the trade deadline they received Javier Saviola who is playing well for them and their offense relies on the quickness of their forwards and a strong game from the flanks – a perfect ingredient against Zenit who will try to dominate the ball possession. I expect a wide open game in here with both teams scoring at least one goal.
