San Diego will start Richard tonight, who has been in some great form lately. He has had six quality outings on his last seven games, including the last three games where he allowed just one, three and three runs against San Francisco at home and Arizona and Colorado on the road respectively. He will be facing the Dodgers for the fifth time this season and barring a very poor outing back in April, Richard has only allowed two runs in each of the other three starts against the Dodgers this season, therefore I expect him to have another good performance, especially when he is in good form right now.
The Dodgers will start Harang, who has also looked in good form lately, but not so much in his previous outings against the Padres, as barring a shutout in San Diego back in May, he allowed four runs in each of the other three games against the Padres this season. Looking at how the Padres are looking confident on their hitting right now, I wouldn't be surprised at all if Harang struggles tonight against a San Diego lineup that has been impressive over the past month.
With Richard looking in good form and having proofed that he can dominate the Dodgers in the past, while Harang tends to have issues against a Padres lineup that looks very confident right now, I believe the Padres have a great shot for the upset tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
