NFL Week 2 - 207 Baltimore Ravens @ 208 Philadelphia Eagles
Projected line: Philadelphia by 6 points
Philadelphia is coming from a great overall performance in Cleveland barring four interceptions from Michael Vick (456-210 in total yards), while the Ravens are coming from a big MNF win over a divisional rival. The public is expecting the Ravens to dominate this contest, but I actually believe the opposite will happen in here.
First of all, I believe in a bounce back from Michael Vick today. Even though he had four interceptions last week, he was able to make some big plays on the passing game as well and I expect him to be more careful today by avoiding turnovers at any cost. Philadelphia has a good well balanced offense and I believe they will make the veteran Ravens defense struggle today, especially on a short week for them, without Terrell Suggs and with Ed Reed limited due to a hamstring injury. The Ravens have a good pass rush, but with Vick's mobility and a decent Eagles Offensive Line, I don't expect Vick to be heavily pressured today.
On the other side, Joe Flacco will definitely be punished by his lack of mobility today against a team who was #1 on the league in sacks last season. He is coming from a great MNF performance against the Bengals, who were really terrible at the Cornerback position, an area where Philadelphia is excellent. I don't believe Flacco will be able to make the big passing plays he was able to make last Monday and with that, all pressure will be on Ray Rice, who won't be able to do it all alone against a decent Eagles run defense.
With the Eagles also having a better special teams unit than the Ravens, I believe Philadelphia have all the conditions to have a comfortable home win today against a tough tram like Baltimore. Therefore, I'll be taking the Eagles today.
