Projected line: Minnesota by 6 points
After an OT win at home against Jacksonville last week, I believe Minnesota have enough edges to get a comfortable win on this road game in Indianapolis against the Colts. Christian Ponder is a solid quarterback and he has a decent enough receivers corps to expose the poor secondary of Indianapolis that already started to get exposed big time this season last week in Chicago. With Dwight Freeney out of this game due to injury, the Colts will be missing an important part of their average pass rush and therefore, I expect the Vikings OL to handle well the Colts DL today. Indianapolis' run defense isn't much better than their pass defense and Adrian Peterson looked in good form in week 1 after his knee injury and I also expect him to have a good game today. Therefore, with a solid Ponder exposing the Colts secondary and Peterson in good form, I believe Minnesota will have a good offensive game today.
Andrew Luck had a tough debut last week in Chicago and things won't get much easier for him today against the great pass rush of the Vikings that will put him under tremendous pressure today. With Austin Collie doubtful for this contest, Reggie Wayne will remain being the team's only quality receiver and so, the Vikings will have conditions to put extra coverage on him today. Donald Brown had a poor game last week and against another quality run defense like Minnesota, I don't expect things to be easier for him today. With Luck being heavily pressured, the running game not working and with just one quality receiver on the field, I don't believe Indianapolis will be able to have a good offensive game today.
With Minnesota also having the edge on the special teams with an impressive rookie kicker and a better return game than the Colts with Percy Harvin, I believe the Vikings has all the necessary edges on this matchup to have a comfortable win today and so, I'll be taking them in here.
