MLB Premium Play 09/14: Philadelphia Phillies @ Houston Astros

MLB - 907 Philadelphia Phillies @ 908 Houston Astros

(Starting Pitchers: C. Hamels vs E. Gonzalez)

Philadelphia is coming from a tough loss yesterday that stopped their momentum. However, this wasn't an unexpected loss, as even though Philadelphia made some damage on Harrell, who is Houston's best starting pitcher, the truth is that Cloyd went to yesterday's outing with just 3 days rest and was only able to hang around for three outings and then Philadelphia's poor bullpen couldn't keep the team in the game.

The Phillies don't have this problem with Hamels, as he usually goes the distance. He is coming from three straight non decisions in a row and on his last four starts he allowed at least 2ER, but he faced good offenses like Milwaukee, Cincinnati, Atlanta and Colorado. But still he pitched for at least six innings and against a poor offense like the Astros, I expect him to have a good outing and go deep in the game as well.

On the other hand, Houston will start Gonzalez, who was very good on his first two starts against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati with just 1ER allowed and a good command with 5/1 and 6/1 K/BB ratio. Still, he left early in the game against Cincinnati due to a blister. I don't believe that Gonzalez is good enough to keep his high level tonight, especially when he will face this time a team loaded with LH batters, while Pittsburgh and Cincinnati were loaded with RH batters.

I believe in a bounce back for the Phillies tonight, with a better offense and with a better starting pitcher as well, therefore I'll be taking Philadelphia tonight.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 907 Philadelphia Phillies RL -1.5 (w/ C. Hamels) @ -120 / 1.83 on 5Dimes
