(Starting Pitchers: S. Diamond vs J. Quintana)
The Twins will start Diamond, who has been in great form lately, but who struggled on his last outing against Seattle, on his first start since his six games suspension. He allowed five runs against the Mariners on his last start, but looking at how impressive he had been previously to that outing (by allowing 0, 3, 3, 3, 2 and 2 runs on his previous six outings), I believe he will bounce back today and go back to his quality starts.
On the other hand, the White Sox will start Quintana tonight, who is coming from allowing five runs and seven hits in just 3.2 innings against Baltimore. He finished August with a 4.20 ERA, 5.31 FIP and 4.71 xFIP, a clear sign that he is regressing after a great month of June. Now on a much worse form, I expect Minnesota to be able to put him in trouble like he has been in every start lately.
With a clear SP edge for this contest and with their offense looking decent once again lately, I believe Minnesota has a great shot for the upset lately and therefore, I'll be taking them in here.
