NBA Premium Play 03/23: Washington Wizards @ Golden State Warriors

NBA - 511 Washington Wizards @ 512 Golden State Warriors

Projected Lines: 198 points | Golden State by 12 points

Washington's defense is ending the season in complete regression, after being an elite unit for most of the season. These problems have been disguised with the fact that they have been facing a lot of poor offensive teams lately, but they will be getting exposed tonight by the Warriors's great offense. They are coming from a great win at LA last night against the Lakers, but their defense was almost non-existent. The Lakers showed good ball movement and even though Emeka Okafor didn't play and he is an important piece in Washington's defense, the truth is that the Wizards's pick and roll defense has been horrible as of late, with the Lakers shooting 6-11 FG on pick and roll ball handler plays last night for 0.86 PPP. John Wall is looking for a max contract on this off-season and he is trying to shine as much as possible on offense, while completely neglecting his defensive tasks. Washington's transition defense is also in clear regression and so, we have all the right conditions for Golden State to have a great offensive game tonight.

The Warriors had 2 days of rest prior to tonight's game and with their pick and roll ball handler game working thanks to Stephen Curry and Jarrett Jack, they will immediately have a considerable edge tonight over the Wizards's defense. If we add to this, David Lee's and Carl Landry's post up game plus the team's excellent spot up shooting and good transition game, Golden State's offense is going to have a great performance tonight. I believe Washington's mindset for tonight will be to put their effort on offense, while showing little worries on defense, something that will allow the Warriors to score a lot tonight. On the other side, John Wall has been amazing on offense and his speed will be a problem for the Warriors's defense, as Wall is now making a lot of good decisions, with good timing on his passes, something that improved the Wizards's offense a lot lately. However, Washington's offensive performance tonight won't be enough to compensate the big offensive game that Golden State will have tonight due to their matchup and spot edges. I expect a high scoring game in here, but with the Warriors having an easy win, therefore I'll be taking both Golden State and the Over tonight.
