NBA Premium Play 03/18: Indiana Pacers @ Cleveland Cavaliers

NBA - 501 Indiana Pacers @ 502 Cleveland Cavaliers

Projected Lines: 186 points | Indiana by 10 points

I really don't like Cleveland's physical spot for today, who had back to back games in Texas against Dallas and San Antonio, just to have a big trip home to face a top team that will be in bounce back mode tonight! Cleveland's offense without Kyrie Irving has been struggling with inconsistency as expected. Even though they played very well against the Spurs last Saturday night, the truth is that happened due to a great outside shooting from the Cavaliers, who shot 10-21 FG from 16-23 feet (note that Marreese Speights had 4-7 FG from this area, how about that?!) and 7-15 3pts. This was partially allowed by San Antonio's second unit, who played very lazy defense throughout the whole game. On this bad spot and against a focused Pacers's defense, I don't expect Cleveland to be able to have a good offensive game. Cleveland's frontcourt will struggle to generate any points down low, while Indiana has the best transition defense in the league, so they will force the Cavaliers's offense to play half court sets, a style that will make them struggle to score as well. Cleveland was able to score 16 fast break points against San Antonio due to the fast pace of the contest, but they won't be able to do that against the elite defense of Indiana.

On the other side, I expect Indiana to have a clear rebounding edge due to their huge size edge on this contest. Cleveland has the worst rim defense in the league and therefore, we can expect some pretty good numbers from David West and Roy Hibbert down low tonight. The Pacers's perimeter shooting is super streaky and they are in a cold streak right now. The good news is that their misses usually result in offensive rebounds from their frontcourt. Considering Indiana's frontcourt edge on offense and their ability to shutdown the Cavaliers's offense, I expect the Pacers to pick up an easy blowout win tonight, on a low scoring game. Therefore, I'll be taking both the Pacers and the Under in here.
