NBA Premium Play 03/20: Utah Jazz @ Houston Rockets

NBA - 613 Utah Jazz @ 614 Houston Rockets

Projected Line: Houston by 12 points

Utah is coming from a pathetic home loss against the Knicks. If their defensive performance was poor, as the super shorthanded Knicks shot 46.4% FG, their offensive performance was ridiculous. Of course Utah dominated the boards by grabbing 60% of the rebounds, but if their team had the skills to crush the Knicks down low, Utah decided to settle for jump shots and scored just 22 points in the paint, with 6-10 FG at the rim, while they shot 9-26 FG from 16-23 feet and 9-19 treys! Volume wise, this is 13% of shots at the rim vs 34% of shots coming from 16-23 feet + 25% treys! This is the result of a terrible coaching job who allowed this to happen, while their opponents also were terrible with Mo Williams and Gordon Hayward taking more shots than Al Jefferson and Paul Millsap! Houston was humiliated at home against Golden State, in a game where they were overconfident having winning their first three games of the season against Golden State. The Rockets didn't defend at all, while their 3pts shots weren't effective this time with 9-35 treys! The Rockets raised their intensity at the start of the second half with a 26-8 run, but they couldn't keep up that for the rest of the game.

The Rockets have a great bounce back spot for tonight. They will be facing perhaps the worst backcourt defense in the league. Mo Williams and Randy Foye won't have a chance to defend Jeremy Lin and James Harden. In fact, the Jazz are #27 in the league on pick and roll ball handler and #29 on spot up defense. Houston's offense is an elite unit on these two areas by being #1 in the league on pick and roll ball handlers and #7 on spot ups, so they will crush Utah tonight. On the other hand, Utah would have in theory an edge down low against Houston, as Omer Asik is their only legit post up player on defense, but the Jazz showed against the Knicks that they don't have any identity on offense right now. Houston crushed Utah on the road on the last game between these two teams and even though there is a lot of talk about revenge for tonight, the truth is that Utah had lost in NY against the Knicks by 84-113 and we all know what happened last Monday night. I expect a very easy win for the Rockets tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 614 Houston Rockets (-7,5) @ -115 / 1.87 on Betonline
