We are in presence in here of two of the slowest paced teams in the league. Brooklyn is #30 in the league in pace factor with 87.0, while New Orleans has also an average pace factor of just 87.6! So, we can be sure that this game will be a pure half court game. New Orleans had the luck of facing Sacramento on their last game, a team that likes to play at an open style, with no defense whatsoever and that allowed the Hornets to have some nice offensive numbers. The same had happened on their previous two games against Cleveland and Dallas, but that won't surely happen tonight against Brooklyn. Tonight's matchup will be much tougher for the Hornets's offense. We know that Brooklyn's defense has been struggling this season against quick guards due to the lack of foot speed of their backcourt duo formed by Joe Johnson and Deron Williams, but New Orleans has also a slow footed backcourt, so the Nets's defense have a good matchup to have a nice performance tonight.
On the other hand, Brooklyn's offense really needs Joe Johnson to have some production on their games. Their halfcourt offense without Joe Johnson is very weak and with Brook Lopez being very inconsistent lately, Brooklyn has been struggling on offense. For tonight, we have a duel between the Lopez Brothers on the frontcourt that promises to have a lot of intensity from both players! I expect this game to be a half court contest, where the lack of speed from both backcourts won't get exposed tonight, turning this game into an ugly low scoring game. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here.
