It's curious to think that Atlanta is still yet to find their identity even after half of the season having already been played. It's almost always their opponent that dictates of the tempo of their games and I believe the same will be happening tonight. Atlanta can play on the half court where they are more stagnant, but if their opponents plays on a fast pace, then they will also play fast as well and this is exactly it should happen tonight. We are talking about two teams that love to attack in transition and in terms of volume of transition plays on their shots, Atlanta is #4 with 15.8%, while Dallas is #5 in the league with 15.5%! So, we can expect both teams to attack early on the shotclock tonight and score more than 20 fast break points each!
Atlanta is currently playing with Jeff Teague and Devin Harris together in the starting lineup, two quick guards, while Dallas has been doing the same for the whole season with Darren Collison and O.J. Mayo. Dallas's offense has been pretty good and consistent over their last 10 games and they had just one subpar offensive game during this span and that happened at Oklahoma City against a Thunder team that has been simply crushing their opponents lately. The Hawks's offense has been much more inconsistent lately, but they have also faced some tough physical teams that play with an opposite style to Dallas: Chicago, Indiana and Memphis. But for tonight, I expect this contest to be a fast paced game with both teams having success on their offense, therefore I'll be taking the Over in here.
