NBA Premium Play 02/10: Houston Rockets @ Sacramento Kings

NBA - 817 Houston Rockets @ 818 Sacramento Kings

Projected Lines: 220 points | Houston by 9 points

Sacramento had their moment yesterday with a packed arena for their game against Utah. They were super rested with 4 days off prior to that game and they were facing a Jazz team on a back to back spot and with their key players exhausted. No wonder my play on Sacramento was an easy winner! On my writeup I wrote that the biggest edge of the Kings was related with their guards:

while Sacramento had a clear edge in something that will happen once again today, as Utah's lack of speed on the perimeter is evident and it will get exposed by Sacramento's quick guards, especially Isiah Thomas and Tyreke Evans.“

And this was exactly what happened, with Isiah Thomas having a 10-16 FG / 25 points night. Tyreke Evans had 6 assists and Marcus Thornton also had 7-14 FG and 24 points! At the same time, Sacramento crushed Utah on the boards by grabbing almost 55% of the rebounds. Utah's guards struggles with Randy Foye shooting 3-8 FG and scoring just 8 points, while Jamaal Tinsley shot just 1-4 FG! Sacramento had a huge edge on the backcourt in both offense and defense!

After scoring 120 points last night, the Kings are quite happy to face the Rockets tonight and they will use the same gameplan that they used yesterday: outgun their opponents, but with Houston's current form on offense, good luck with that!

The Rockets's offense has been unstoppable. I watched the first half of their last game against Portland and even though the game had a relatively slow pace, Houston was super sharp in exploring the mismatches they had in their favor. Portland started to double team James Harden, but he would make some excellent passes. Then, the Blazers changed into a single coverage and Harden crushed the Blazers's defense. The result of that was Harden having a super game with 13-16 FG, 35 points, 11 assists and 7 rebounds! Houston's offense is currently unstoppable in three key areas: pick and roll ball handler plays as expected with James Harden, spot ups and transitions. Sacramento's defense is #30 against pick and roll ball handler plays, #22 on spot ups and #26 on transitions, so the Rockets's offense are going to have a field day today!

Of course Sacramento will have an edge on their guards on offense, as both James Harden and Jeremy Lin are poor defenders, especially off the dribble. Houston's transition defense is also quite poor by being #27 in the league while allowing 1.21 PPP and Sacramento is coming to this game with a commitment to run tonight (25 fast break points against the Jazz last night with 9-16 FG on transitions), I also expect the Kings to have a nice offensive game today.

However, the Kings's offense is inferior to the Rockets's offense, therefore I believe Houston will eventually create a nice gap in the scoreboard today, on a very high scoring game. Therefore, I'll be taking both the Rockets and the Over in here.
