Chicago was humiliated last night at home against Miami. The Bulls were decent on defense as usual, but their offense was a mess with a pathetic number of 27 turnovers! It was the second worst mark in turnover rate in the whole season! I know coach Thibodeau is a defensive coach, but he can't complain about defense from last night's game. The whole problem was on offense! So, we can expect an offensive bounce back from the Bulls tonight! Charlotte's defense is awful not just in the perimeter where they lack discipline in the rotation, but their interior defense is also terrible now that Byron Mullens is back on the lineup. So, it's no surprise that Charlotte has allowed 50, 54 and 50 points in the paint on their last three games, while all their opponents made at least 20 field goals at the rim in each game. These will be good news for the Bulls's offense that even though lack star power, they have a good ball movement and they will easily take advantage of the Bobcats's bad rotations, while the Bulls's frontcourt will dominate down low with multiple easy points.
The problem for Chicago tonight is that a rested Bobcats team might be dangerous on offense. We know that the Bulls's transition defense has been poor the whole season and Charlotte is one of the teams with the highest volume of transition plays in the league, even though they aren't very effective. However, with the Bulls being on a back to back spot tonight, Charlotte's gameplan will be to push up the pace in order to score in transition. Another weakness of the Bulls has been on their PG defense, where they struggle in defending pick and rolls. With Hinrich injured, Nate Robinson will have to defend Kemba Walker and Ramon Sessions tonight, so the Bobcats's offense will have another interesting edge in here. I see this game being a relatively high scoring affair and so, I'll be taking the Over in here.
