NBA Premium Play 02/13: Chicago Bulls @ Boston Celtics

NBA - 713 Chicago Bulls @ 714 Boston Celtics

Projected Line: 177 points

***DOUBLE DIME PLAY***

Boston is really unlucky for having to play on such a poor spot tonight. They played a triple overtime game against Denver last Sunday, they are shorthanded and their key players are veterans and therefore, they lack the proper stamina to be efficient in poor physical spots. Even worse than this, they had to play a back to back game on the road after playing the Nuggets and even though they were facing the Bobcats, they ran out of gas in the fourth quarter, after being competitive in the first three quarter thanks to a nice outside shooting game by taking advantage of Charlotte's horrible perimeter defense. The Celtics had a 91-87 lead with 2:14 to go, but they didn't score a single point until the end of the game. More important than that, they weren't even able to attempt a single shot near the basket:

Jason Terry missed 26-foot three point jumper
Kevin Garnett missed 22-foot jumper
Avery Bradley missed 18-foot jumper
Kevin Garnett missed 18-foot jumper
Paul Pierce missed 26-foot three point jumper
Avery Bradley missed 24-foot three point jumper

Just a bunch of jumpers and Boston ended the game with 10-22 (45.5%) FG at the rim! They had one day off between that game and tonight's game against the Bulls, but this is still a brutal spot for them, as they will be playing their fifth game in eight days and they will play against a very physical opponent like Chicago.

We know that Boston has some problems in terms of lack of speed, but the good news is that the Bulls don't have the skills to take advantage of Boston's transition defense and their problems in stopping their opponents on dribble penetrations. Chicago isn't on a nice physical spot for tonight either and they are now paying the price of having to play their starters for very heavy minutes when they were super shorthanded in last week's games. They are tired and really needing the All Star break as soon as possible! Still, the Bulls remain an elite team, especially on defense. It's true that they had two awful defensive games against Denver and San Antonio lately, but these two teams are explosive offensive teams that were able to take advantage of Chicago's current defensive problems

Even though we are in front of two great defensive teams, the first three games of this series went Over the total posted. The lack of speed of the Bulls's backcourt was completely exposed by Rajon Rondo, as he had 10-16 FG, 20 points, 10 assists and 9 rebounds in the first game, 9-18 FG, 26 points, 8 assists and 2 rebounds in the second game and 12-21 FG 30 points, 7 assists and 2 rebounds on the third game! As we all know, Rondo is unfortunately out for the season due to a knee injury and so, Boston won't have the offensive edge tonight that they had in their previous games against the Bulls this season. We are talking about two very tired teams right now, but who will play hard on defense as usual. This should be an ugly contest for most of the time, while we will be dealing with an old classic half court game tonight. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here on a Double Dime Play!
