Free Premium Play 02/22: New York Knicks @ Toronto Raptors

New York  at Toronto
NBA - 805 New York Knicks @ 806 Toronto Raptors

Projected Line: NY Knicks by 6 points

The Knicks is coming from a humiliating loss at Indiana. They missed everything offensively with 33.7% FG and 5-28 3pts, even though most of their shots were wide open and still, the Knicks spent the whole game shooting bricks with 4-21 FG on spot ups plays! The opposite happened with Indiana, who was red hot. The Pacers's physical play was evident, especially when their second unit entered the court. There were a lot of fouls, a lot of free throws, but Indiana's superior depth and athleticism controlled the game and crushed the Knicks! The NY team will now play at Toronto, in a revenge game for the Knicks, who lost at home against the Raptors last week.

Both teams aren't showing good offense right now. the Knicks have been missing their treys and of course, without their 3pts shots, they are unable to do anything on offense. Over their last four games, the Knicks shot 8-26 3pts, 7-23 3pts, 9-25 3pts and 5-28 3pts, for a combined of 29-102 (28.4%) 3pts!

On the other hand, the Raptors's offensive problems are even tougher to solve, as they have bad ball movement, poor chemistry and too many players going for isolation plays: Rudy Gay, DeMar DeRozan, Alan Anderson and John Lucas! This "tactic" worked for the Raptors last week in NY, where the Knicks had a terrible shooting game with 34.4% FG versus 42.5% FG from Toronto. Both teams had just 12 assists, however there was a player who solve the game for Toronto: Alan Anderson with 10-16 FG and 6-8 3pts. If we remove his numbers from the game, the Raptors shot 21-57 (36.8%) FG! Besides that, Toronto committed just 10 turnovers and had a great 21-24 FT mark, while being able to compensate the fact that the Knicks completely outrebounded them with a 20-8 offensive rebound edge.

For today, I don't know if Coach Casey will put Landry Fields defending Carmelo Anthony once again, but if that happens, the Knicks won't be surprised by that anymore. With these two stagnant offenses facing each other, I trust the Knicks much more, with their key edge being Tyson Chandler dominating down low, something that didn't happen last week because he was limited with foul trouble. I believe the Knicks will get revenge from their loss last week against the Raptors tonight and so, I'll be taking them in here.
