Brooklyn will be playing without Joe Johnson once again and this is bad news for the Nets against a tough matchup like Memphis. Deron Williams is playing banged up and Brooklyn without Joe Johnson has just Brook Lopez has their only consistent offensive player available. Lopez had a monster game in the Nets's last game against Houston with 13-21 FG and 27 points! But against the tough Grizzlies frontcourt, the story will be much different as Marc Gasol is one of the best defensive centers in the league! With Lopez limited, Brooklyn won't have a good enough offense to outplay the Grizzlies's excellent defense.
On the other side, Memphis's offense has been improving since the Rudy Gay/Tayshaun Prince trade. Their ball movement is way improved lately and we can prove that with their improved A/TO ratio. They have a season assist rate of 57.93%, but their rate went to 64.31% over their last 10 games! Memphis should have just too much against Brooklyn, who will be without their best backcourt player. Therefore, I'll be taking the Grizzlies in here.
