I'll be glad to take the most solid team in here plus the points. Seattle has been a very consistent team this season, with a very impressive defense and a conservative offense led by RB Marshawn Lynch. The Seahawks had a natural letdown last week in St Louis against the Rams, after beating the Packers in a controversial MNF game, but they have now a good spot to bounce back in a game against a team that has been struggling in being solid this season. Rookie QB Russell Wilson is coming for a poor game in St Louis, but I expect him to return today to his usual routine: take zero risks and just support the team's running game in some short yardage situations. On the other hand, Marshawn Lynch has been working a lot this season, but he is in good form and he should be able to outplay a Panthers run defense that is far from being a quality unit. Therefore, I expect Seattle to be very conservative on offense by running the football a lot, while protecting the ball very well from a mediocre Panthers defense.
On the other hand, I expect a lot of problems to the Panthers offense today. Carolina's game is also based on their running game, with QB Cam Newton and RB's DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart sharing the team's carries. Even though they have indeed a good running game, Seattle has a very good run defense that should limit Carolina's running game production today. With the Panthers needing to throw the football today, I believe Seattle's very quick defensive players will be all over the field putting pressure on Cam Newton (who has been poor this season) and taking advantage from any bad pass that Newton will surely throw today. Therefore, I believe Carolina may have some decent yardage today, however they will most likely have issues with turnovers today against a very good Seattle defense.
With Seattle being effective on their offense, running well the football while protecting it very well, while Carolina will struggle against a great Seahawks defense in both yardage and turnovers, I'll be taking the much more solid Seahawks in here for a very important road win for them today. I'm taking Seattle plus the points in here.
