WNBA Free Premium Plays 06/08

WNBA - 603 Minnesota Lynx @ 604 Washington Mystics

Projected Line: Minnesota by 15 points

This is a back to back game for Washington, who is coming from a great win at Connecticut last night, but where three of their starters played more than 30 minutes. Offensively, Washington continues to struggle with just 12 assists against the Sun, even though they avoided turnovers well with just 12 committed. The Mystics' offense is a bit like Atlanta's: no outside shooting (0-5 and 3-10 3pts L2 games) and so, they need Langhorne, Currie and the rookie Meesseman to perform at a nice level. As we all know, Minnesota's defense easily dominates one-dimensional teams, so they won't have problems in controlling Washington's offense tonight.

On the other hand, Minnesota's offense is already at a great level on this early season and they are completely on fire right now, while showing an amazing ball movement with 24/10 and 30/6 A/TO on their last two games! The Lynx have a great combination of good transitions, outside shooting and interior game to crush Washington's defense tonight and so, I expect another blowout win for the Lynx tonight.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 603 Minnesota Lynx (-11,5) @ -110 / 1.91 on 5Dimes

WNBA - 605 Tulsa Shock @ 606 Los Angeles Sparks

Projected Line: 172 points

This is a back to back game for Tulsa, as they played and defeated Seattle on the road last night. This was a great win for them, especially because they are currently without their two best frontcourt players in Liz Cambage and Tiffany Jackson-Jones. The problem for the Shock tonight is that the Sparks will be a much tougher opponent for them than the Storm were yesterday. We all know that Tulsa's defense without Cambage is simply non-existent against teams that are aggressive and that like to run. They allowed 98 points to Atlanta, with the Dream scoring 24 fast break points and 25 points in the paint. Tulsa won at Seattle because the Storm simply don't run with the ball. They have a halfcourt offense with no transition game and no powerful frontcourt player to dominate on the inside. The Storm also shot a ridiculous 0-17 3pts, something that helped Tulsa as well.

While Seattle scored just 1, 4 and 7 fast break points on their first three games of the season, the Sparks scored 15 and 13 fast break points on their first two games of the year! LA faced Seattle and San Antonio, who aren't fast paced teams, but still the pace of those games were 75.63 and 77.07 respectively! The Sparks will have their first run and gun game of the season and I expect them to focus on their offensive game tonight to crush the Shock's terrible defense, while showing little care on defense, something that will allow the Shock to score a decent amount of points in here as well. I see this game being a very high scoring contest and so, I'll be taking the Over in here.
