Houston will start Erik Bedard tonight and he has been terrible this season. His command with last start was actually reasonable with a 2/1 K/BB ratio, but he has been lacking some strikeout punch on his last few starts, while giving a lot of walks. Kansas City is a top 15 offense against LH pitchers and so, I expect them to expose Bedard's problems tonight without problems.
On the other hand, the Royals will start Erwin Santana, who is coming from a good outing against Texas, where he allowed just one run and three hits on seven innings. His 0-4 record on his last five starts may seem that he is struggling, but that's not the case, as he had a 26/6 K/BB ratio across 34.1 innings and his record is the result of lack of run support and not poor pitching. He has been facing very tough opposition lately but with good success, so I don't expect him to struggle against the lowly Astros tonight, especially considering how much Houston's batters struggle against RH pitchers. I believe in an easy win for the Royals in here, so I'll take them on the runline tonight.
