(Starting Pitchers: T. Lyons vs R. Nolasco)
Yesterday's game was a huge offensive explosion! If that was expected from the Cardinals, the Marlins were a pleasant surprise and they are starting to have some decent offense: .303 and .297 BA on their last two games against St Louis! The Cardinals will start Tyler Lyons, who after good back to back starts, has struggled on his last two outings by allowing four runs on each, while having an unimpressive 4/2 and 4/3 K/BB ratios! I don't trust Lyons and with the Marlins hitting better now, I expect Lyons to struggle today.
Miami will start Ryan Nolasco today and he is coming from a bad start against Milwaukee, where he allowed four runs and two hits, while having a 5/2 K/BB ratio. But overall speaking, Nolasco has been solid this season with a decent control and while going deep into his starts! His ERA is no fluke, as his 3.80 ERA is reinforced by a 3.64 FIP and 3.85 xFIP! He has been excellent against RH batters with .240 BA allowed and 3.04 FIP! St Louis won't start Yadier Molina and Matt Holiday today, so I believe the Marlins will be able to be very competitive today and so, I'll take them on the Runline today as underdogs.
