Texas has lost their last six games and all these losses were at home! The more interesting fact was that their main issue on these losses were their offense, as their BA was only above .250 once in those games! On the other hand, Oakland managed to avoid a series sweep against Seattle at home yesterday with a blast against Hisashi Iwakuma, with .425 BA, 1.398 OPS and 10 runs scored! The Athletics will start Dan Straily, who started a good run of outings exactly at Texas with zero runs allowed in seven innings. He isn't allowing home runs, he isn't walking batters and with him being a flyball pitcher, he was lucky that three of his last four outings were at home, as on their only road game at Chicago, he allowed four runs to the White Sox. With Texas being desperate to produce some offense, it will be tough for a flyball pitcher like Straily to have a good outing today, especially with just 4 days of rest.
On the other side, Texas will start Nick Tepesch, who allowed five and six runs on his last two starts. His surprise factor is disappearing and he is starting to struggle. Tepesch's best pitch is the cutter, but the Athletics are #1 in the league in hitting against this kind of pitch, so they will be a terrible matchup for Tepesch! He is especially terrible against LH batters, with .299 BA, .362 wOBA and 5.18 FIP against them and Oakland is capable to put six players who hit on the left side on the lineup. I believe we have the right ingredients to have a very high scoring game in here, so I'll be taking the Over on this contest.
