MLB - 919 Detroit Tigers @ 920 Cleveland Indians
(Starting Pitchers: M. Scherzer vs C. Kluber)
Cleveland has been hitting incredibly well and they even outplayed Seattle's best pitchers in Felix Hernandez and Hisashi Iwakuma on their last two games. They will now face Max Scherzer, who has been pitching well, but who has been unlucky as his FIP is clearly lower than his current season ERA. The Indians might be hitting very well the ball, but they are quite impatient as well (#8 in KK% with 21.3%) and this will help Scherzer who is one of the best pitchers in the league in striking out the opposing batters. Scherzer also traditionally dominates the Indians, as he is allowing just .222 BA and .635 OPS against this Indians' roster!
On the other side, Corey Kluber has been a quite unlucky this season, as numbers don't lie: 5.40 ERA, 3.39 FIP and 3.49 xFIP! He should had an ERA around 3.00's, but he has a 5.40 ERA due to his huge BABIP with .360! His worst start of the season was at Detroit, where he got pounded with 11 hits and 8 runs allowed in 4.2 innings, while having a 4/2 K/BB ratio! I believe he will be much better tonight, as he has been pitching quite well this season, but luck hasn't been on his side. Therefore, I believe this should be a surprisingly low scoring affair and so, I'll be taking the Under in here.
