NBA Premium Play 04/20: Golden State Warriors @ Dallas Mavericks

NBA - 707 Golden State Warriors @ 708 Dallas Mavericks

Projected line: Dallas by 18 points

Golden State is currently playing with the following lineup: Klay + Jenkins + Wright + Tyler + Gladness, with just Rush + McGuire + Moore and C. Wright available on the bench! As always, they keep being outrebounded on their games, as they are playing with an undersized lineup and so, they just can't defend on the paint. The Lakers shot 27-34 FG at the rim against them, having also shot 18-23 FG on cuts, as the Lakers only had to perform a simple cut and the Warriors defense couldn't stop them at all, showing how much they are missing a big man right now. In fact, if it wasn't for the lack of fresh legs the Lakers showed the whole game and their lack of outside game (0-13 FG from 16-23 feet and 4-16 3pts) or the Lakers would have completely destroyed Golden State. Offensively, the Warriors have just three ways of scoring: transitions, spot ups and P&R's, as they don't really use any post up moves!

On the other hand, Dallas is coming from a huge win over Houston, where I thought they would have no legs after their triple overtime game at Utah, but with a good bench play from Terry and Carter, Dallas played quite well with good balance! They will play tomorrow at Chicago, so they really need to win this game to go more relaxed to a very tough game against the Bulls.

"We want to be playing good basketball heading into the playoffs so we're working toward that," coach Rick Carlisle said after Friday morning's shootaround. "That's the biggest thing. We'll watch the minutes, but the emphasis is going to be on hard play, continuing to trend the right way coming off a good win against Houston and, again, we just want to be very fixated on our process of being a good basketball team and being a team that can be successful in the playoffs."

Dallas' defense is quite good on P&R's and spot ups, with the only edge of the Warriors offense on this matchup being on transition plays. Therefore, I expect Dallas to use their depth on rotation and their good mindset to completely blowout the Warriors on this contest, on a great offensive game for them. So, I'll be taking the Mavs in here.
