The Clippers are 8-2 in their last 10 games and they are fighting for the best possible seed. They are defending much better now than when they were slumping and with Mo Williams back, the Clippers have now some balanced depth coming off the bench. That's why they were able to beat Minnesota on the road on a back to back spot, despite Blake Griffin being the only starter who played more than 30 minutes! This isn't a great spot for them, but I expect them to come fired up today as not only they are fighting for the best playoff spot possible, as they were defeated by the Warriors in the last two games against them, with the last loss against Golden State being one of the most humiliating losses of the season, as they lost at home by 93-97.
As expected, Golden State's defense disappeared lately, as they are now playing with an undersized lineup and with no interior toughness whatsoever. They have allowed 20.6 fast break points per game in their last 5 games, while allowing an unbelievable bad 120.3 in offensive rates to their opponents! The only reason why Golden State has been competitive in some games is due to their good offensive team. They are using David Lee as their primary center and he was playing well as of late until he got injured and he won't play today. Golden State simply lacks the size and athleticism to hang around with the Clippers powerful frontcourt and Griffin will have a field day today. Against Dallas, the Warriors basically didn't run P&R plays or Post Up plays and they were massively perimeter oriented and without Lee, this will be even more concerning for their offense.
I fully expect the Clippers to dominate the glass and the paint today, while their shooting from the perimeter won't be worse than the Warriors, as Mo Williams is back. I believe the Clippers are going to have a very easy blowout win today and therefore, I'll take them in here.
