NBA - 515 Memphis Grizzlies @ 516 New Orleans Hornets Projected line: 185 points This isn't an easy spot for Memphis, as this will be their 4th game in 5 nights, besides being also a back to back game, while the Hornets had 1 day off before today's game. Memphis has now their rotations well established with Zach and Mayo coming off the bench. Their defense continues to be at the same level that they had all season long, while their offense has suffered a boost lately, as they are averaging an offensive rate of 109.1 in their last 10 games and 112.1 in their last 5 games, while their season average is just 105! Yesterday against Utah, Memphis had a well balanced inside-out game with 19 FGM at the rim and also 7-13 from 3pts. I believe they won't have a lot of problems in scoring today against the poor interior defense of the Hornets. However, I haven't been liking the Grizzlies' defense lately, especially in letting the opposing guards scoring points near the basket. While I expected Millsap and Big Al to produce most of the Jazz offense yesterday, Utah's guards did unexpectedly well with Harris having 7-16 FG 20pts, Hayward 4-10 FG 7-7 16pts and even Carroll shot 3-6 FG! The Hornets offense has been playing well lately, with an offensive rate of 115.5 in their last 4 games. This hasn't been reflected in a lot of points, as the pace of their games has been quite low, however New Orleans will offer the same problems that Utah gave Memphis last night. Both Kaman and Smith have been playing well on offense, while at the same time they have terrible on defense. Eric Gordon will also offer some matchup problems to the Grizzlies from the outside. New Orleans is shooting 46% 3pts in their last 10 games, while they are just averaging 34% 3pts for the season! Memphis leads the head to head by 2-0, with both games going over the total posted, even though the lines were set in the 170's! With both teams playing good offense today, I expect this game to have some good offense and therefore, I'll be taking the Over in here.
