Dallas is on a super bad spot for today, as not only this game will be their 3rd game in 4 days, as they went to overtime in LA against the Lakers and then, they went to three overtimes at Utah in altitude, with Kidd playing 45 minutes, Dirk 53 minutes, Terry 54 minutes and even Carter 34 minutes! Dallas looked excellent on offense but just late and they also failed a lot on defense, as Utah did something that the Mavs weren't expecting. Dallas tried to limit the ball to come to the Jazz frontcourt and they did as Utah shot just 9-19 FG at the rim, however by giving space to Utah on the perimeter, the Jazz had a monster game on the outside with 15-29 FG from 16-23 feet and 12-28 3pts!
On the other hand, Houston seems to be fading away lately with 0-4 L4 but always against winning record teams. Houston has been struggling with players penetrating into the basket and with transitions, with Denver taking advantage of that with 8-12 FG on cuts and 11-16 FG in transition. Fortunately for the Rockets, Dallas doesn't have this kind of skills and in fact, they are just #26 in cuts and #30 in transition! Houston has the conditions to limit Dallas' offense, but the Rockets are also without any confidence on the offense right now, as they are shooting just 57% FG at the rim lately.
We are talking about two jump shooting teams who will be struggling today. The previous two games between these two teams ended with 182 and 171 points in regulation and with both teams having little volume on the inside. With this game being so important for both teams, I expect the pace to be slow and both teams to defend with a lot of hustle. Therefore, I'll be taking the Under in here in a Double Dime Play!
