The current rotation of the Nuggets haven't been able to dominate the rebounds as it was expected and defensively, Denver has been able to stop their opponents at the rim, but they have been terrible in stopping the outside shooting, as they are allowing 48% FG from 16-23 feet and 40% 3pts in their last 5 games! Besides that, Denver's transition defense continues to be poor and even the Lakers were able to shoot 8-12 FG in transition against them! This is exactly what the Rockets are able to do very well. Houston has their offense based on the perimeter, with an excellent transition game via Dragic. In their last 7 games, the Rockets have been averaging 18.3 fast break points per game! So, Houston will definitely be a tough matchup for Denver on this contest.
On the other hand, the Nuggets offense continues to have IQ problems, as against the Lakers they were successful at the rim with 25-39 FG, but instead of trying to pound the rim even more, they decided to shoot from the outside with the terrible numbers of 1-18 FG from 16-23 feet and 5-17 3pts! This problem against Houston will happen again, as the Rockets use zone defense at times and Denver without outside shooting will definitely struggle. I also believe Scola will have a mismatch against Faried, as Scola's skill moves will pick apart Faried. I like the Rockets in here to be highly competitive and perhaps even win this game outright. I'm taking Houston in here.
