NBA Premium Play 04/19: Los Angeles Clippers @ Phoenix Suns

NBA - 509 Los Angeles Clippers @ 510 Phoenix Suns

Projected line: LA Clippers by 2 points

The Clippers showed once again yesterday that they are playing their best basketball of the season right now. They trailed against the Nuggets early on with the main reason for that being the very fast pace Denver set on the game. But then on the second quarter, the Clippers performed a comeback in a way that no way it would have happened early on, with their 2nd unit playing really well. In fact, CP3 played 35 minutes and all the other players were on the court for 30 minutes or less! The Clippers did well on rebounds and they were excellent on the outside shooting. In fact, they are shooting 44% 3pts in their last 5 games!

They will now face the Suns on the road, who are showing that they can't handle a physical team for the whole game. Phoenix couldn't make easy shots last night against Oklahoma City and they shot just 13-23 FG at the rim, with Gortat shooting 2-13 FG! The series is at 2-1 for the Suns, with an humiliating loss for the Clippers, who lost at home against the Suns without Nash and Hill. Even though this game might look as a good matchup for Phoenix, the truth is that with Kenyon Martin, the Clippers are now a much better defensive team on P&R plays. Note that in the last game between these two teams, the Clippers won quite easily and Phoenix had 0-7 FG on P&R Ball Handler, with Nash shooting 0-4 FG, while Martin had a team high of +22 on +/-, even though he played just 26 minutes.

The own P&R's plays from CP3 will give the Clippers an edge in here, especially combined with their red hot outside shooting. Phoenix is desperate for a win tonight, but the Clippers are also fighting badly for the #3 seed in the conference and looking at the fact that the team from LA is clearly the better team of the two right now, I'll be taking them tonight.

Pick: 3 units (Single Dime Play) on 509 Los Angeles Clippers (+2) @ -110 / 1.91 on Bookmaker
