I like Connecticut in here, especially with Candace Parker being out for tonight. The Sparks' interior defense is quite weak and things only get even worse without Parker. They got crushed by Tulsa's frontcourt and even on their last game at Washington, Crystal Langhorne shot 10-13 FG and scored 23 points! So, today, the reigning MVP Tina Charles should have a field day against the weak paint defense of the Sparks! So, the question in here will be the Sun's outside shooting. As much as Tina Charles dominates, she needs some help from the guards and finally Connecticut was able to shot well from the perimeter on their last game at New York with 10-21 3pts! With some confidence regained, I expect the Sun's offense to be decent tonight.
On the other side, the Sparks can't generate the free throws they normally get without Parker. This is why they had just 12-15 and 6-7 FT on their last two games. With Parker on the court, Los Angeles would crush Connecticut, who has at the PF position their weakest link. But with Parker out of tonight's game, I believe this will actually be a close contest, something that turns the Sun into a very valuable home underdog tonight. Therefore, I'll be taking Connecticut in here
