(Starting Pitchers: J. De La Rosa vs T. Cloyd)
Colorado will start Jorge De La Rosa tonight, who after being solid all season long, struggled at Atlanta and at Pittsburgh, just to bounce back at home against the same Pirates and San Diego. This means that De La Rosa faced top teams on hitting versus LH pitchers in all his last four outings, as Atlanta is #7, Pittsburgh #4 and San Diego #5! On the other hand, the Phillies are very far from this level and they are indeed hitting a ridiculous .0805 BA on their last 10 games against LH pitchers! Therefore, this is a great spot for De La Rosa tonight.
Tyler Cloyd was called up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley to start tonight. In a six-outings stint with Philadelphia early on this season, Cloyd didn't impress with a 18/15 K/BB ratio in 34.1 innings. He didn't also impress at Triple-A with a 5-9 record and a 4.89 ERA! Colorado's offense has been much better as of late with .266 BA against RH pitchers on their last 10 games and therefore, I expect them to put Cloyd in some trouble tonight. So, I see a good spot to take the Rockies in here.
