MLB - 969 Texas Rangers @ 970 Oakland Athletics

Texas will start Derek Holland today and he allowed four earned runs in six innings against the Angels last Tuesday. Holland has been very solid this season, especially on the road with a 2.89 ERA, 2.55 FIP and 3.67 xFIP! He is coming from facing a group of power teams and he was impressive in those: Seattle; @Baltimore; @Detroit; Baltimore; LA Angels! Holland has already played at Oakland this season, back in May, and he wasn't great with 4 earned runs allowed in 5.2 innings. However, he was unlucky, as he had a 6.35 ERA in that start, but a 1.81 FIP and 3.28 xFIP! Also the A's offense is now playing much worse with them being #23 in the league over the last 30 days! Therefore, I expect Holland to have a good outing today.
A.J. Griffin will start for Oakland today and he is coming from allowing four runs in seven innings against Toronto last Monday. As he is a flyball pitcher, he is prone to allow some homeruns and he has been terrible in this area lately, with a 12.5 HR/FB% and 3, 2 and 3 homeruns allowed on his last three starts! Of course that thanks to this, his FIP on his last three outings where 8.04, 5.09 and 9.84 FIP! Texas's offense has woken up and they are now carrying a lot of momentum, so even though Griffin dominated Texas in May and June, I expect things to be different today. I believe Texas will have edges in both SP and offense today and so, I'll be taking them in here.
