Yesterday Philadelphia lost in Memphis, who was on a back to back spot. Coach Collins decided to insert Nocioni as the starting PF and things didn't go well, as the Sixers was already down by 7-15 when he got benched. Philadelphia got into a 10-30 first quarter hole and never fully recovered. The Sixers still made a comeback, but they didn't have enough energies to fully comeback. Note that the Sixers bench was terrible with Louis 2-13 FG, Young 3-11 FG and Turner 1-5 FG, while the Grizzlies had a good performance from their bench and that was the key for them as both Conley and Gay were shutdown. Gay had 14 points and 3-10 FG, while Conley only had 9 points with 4-14 FG! The Sixers had no inside game and that was visible with 13-27 FG at the rim and 3-13 FG from 3-9 feet! Philadelphia defended well as always, but they couldn't do anything on offense!
Tonight, the Sixers will play in Houston and they are a bad matchup for the Rockets, as Houston's two most influential players on their offense are Lowry and KMart, who will be very well defended by Holiday and Iguodala, who already shown yesterday against Gay and Conley what they are capable of doing defensively. With Scola struggling, the Rockets have no major interior threats and so, Philadelphia won't have a huge mismatch down low as they had yesterday against Marc Gasol. Philadelphia is 0-4 on their last 4 games and so, they will be fired up to finally win a game. Houston has been playing at a very slow pace lately and with the Sixers great transition and perimeter defense, they will put a lot of pressure on Houston's offense. I expect Philadelphia to be highly competitive today on a slow paced contest and defensive-dominated, therefore I'll take the Sixers in here and also the under on a Double Dime Play!
