This game will have some interesting matchups. Even though Aldridge is playing tonight, he will be limited, so I don't expect any of these two teams to have a lot of success on their interior game and so, this should be a pure outside contest. Portland's rim offense has been one of the worst of the league with just 59% FG, even though they have a lot of volume with 33%. So, the pressure to shoot well from the outside will be big, but the Blazers have just Jamal as a good outside shooters and occasionally Batum as well. On the other hand, Felton has been struggling and he is currently involved on a feud with his coach. However, Portland is a team that plays hard and they are on a better spot today than in their past games, as they have 1 day off and this is also a home-home game for them.
On the other hand, Atlanta lost to the road against the Lakers, just to bounce back and win in Phoenix in their last game. They were able to have a big comeback, however they scored absolutely exclusively from the outside with just 11-16 FG at the rim! But the 10-21 on 3pts were enough for them to get the win. Atlanta used some zone defense against the Suns and they will surely do it again today, as Portland is a bad perimeter offensive team. In the first game of the series, Atlanta won in a game full of big runs, however note at the inside numbers of both teams, with Atlanta shooting 14-28 FG at the rim and Portland 15-28 FG from the same area. I expect a similar game today, with both teams only having some success from their outside shooting, not enough for them to have a good offensive game in here. Therefore, I will take the under on this contest. Considering Portland's current struggles and the fact that Atlanta is a bad matchup for them due to their athleticism and hustle, I will also take the Hawks tonight.
