This
game will have some emotion,as it will put head to head two teams
coached by Adelman and McHale! Minnesota is coming from a road trip
where they played well and on this game, we have two very interesting
matchups: Love vs Scola e Lowry vs Rubio! The Rockets offense has been
very well with their ball movement (except on low paced games) and their
bench has some edge for tonight, especially on the backcourt with
Dragic and Lee. As we know, Houston has been having some problems on
their interior defense, even though they have improved a bit on this
area with Dalembert being in great form (60% FG allowed at the rim in
their last 5 games vs 65% FG allowed at the rim on their season).
However, Minnesota doesn't play near the basket, just like Houston.
Less than 30% volume of their shots are at the rim and just 11% from 3-9
feet! Of course Love will have an edge over Scola, but the Wolves on a
shooting contest with Houston may have some problems. Even though he has
been playing very well, Rubio will have a tough matchup against Lowry,
who is playing at a superior level right now. Houston has been amazing
on offensive rebounds, being 5th in the league with 1.10 PPP and
Minnesota has some problems at defending on this area, as they are just
17th with 1.02 PPP allowed! I believe the key factor on this game may
come from the matchup between the 6'7 Martin and the 6'2 Ridnour.
KMartin will be very aggressive and put pressure on the Wolves,putting
some of them in foul trouble, especially considering the horrible 2nd
unit of the Wolves in terms of backcourt. I like Houston in here,as they
are the better team and especially because their edge on the backcourt.
Therefore, I'll take the Rockets tonight.
